Claiming back hip-hop for the party heads, The Menagerie burst onto the scene 2 years ago with a refreshing mix of light-hearted lyrics and funk-laden beats. A long way from the grumpy MC’s ever present in UK hip-hop, this 5-man crew have taken Brighton by storm and are set to do the same to the rest of the country.
The amazing beats are provided by Tom Caruana, an established producer, who has worked with the likes of Jehst, Skinnyman and many of the UK’s finest. MC’s Elemental, Dr Syntax and Koaste host the Menagerie shows and drop an incredible range of styles – From tracks about food fights to strange stories and straight up party bangers, the Menagerie MC’s have a gift to keep the party rocking.
Backing them up is Nick Maxwell, a DJ with over a decade of experience, who has played alongside the likes of RUN DMC, Dilated Peoples, Rahzel and Ugly Duckling. Look out for new releases by The Menagerie, on Fluid Ounce Records.
